Central to our approach is using rigorous analytics to develop new insights. Over the course of a decade working together and leading research at the WORLD Policy Analysis Center, we honed methodological approaches to producing rigorous, causal evidence on what works to improve outcomes at scale and uncovering how policy design choices determine whether laws are equitable.
Analyzing what’s worked
Using rigorous econometric methods, we measure whether policy changes have led to improvements in health, economic security, education, equality, and other outcomes across jurisdictions.

Studies are separately organized by outcome measured and by policy area. For many studies, shorter research briefs that summarize key findings for a wider audience are included alongside a link to the academic journal article.
Uncovering inequalities in the law
Laws and policies that are neutral on their face can nevertheless widen disparities across race, gender, class, and other dimensions. We analyze the data to bring these unequal impacts to light.
